Cameron Wows at the Riviera

Maverick organist Cameron Carpenter gave an impressive and well-received performance Sunday afternoon at the Riviera Theatre. Cameron's skill was apparent from the very first note, and he performed a variety of classical pieces, many of which aren't typically associated with the organ, including the Gershwin medley that closed the show. After the performance, VIP ticket holders attended a reception where they were able to speak to Cameron and enjoy wine and hors d'ouevres. During the show Cameron noted that the fight against HIV and AIDS is a cause close to his heart, and the performance was a benefit for AIDS Community Services.
